I was hospitalized for almost a week due to severe nausea, pain and fatigue.  It’s a fine balance to find the meds and doses that treat the symptoms without making me feel completely snowed.

My oncologist and some fantastic nurses were able to get my nausea and pain under control.  I came home last night for the best night’s sleep in a long time. I appreciate everyone’s support but I remain very tired – I ( or a family member) read your emails but I won’t be responding and I continue to ask for no visitors.  Please remember that my sister-in-law is compiling a memory book for Corbin.  You can send any pictures and stories to: memoriesforcorbin@gmail.com.

Thanks for all your love, support and prayers.

The Mother & The Step Mother:
I feel like I / we are living the movie Step Mom with Julia Roberts. Jen Smith and I have been on quite the journey, three years ago we hardly even had a relationship at all and now we text / talk daily!!! She has forever changed my life and I will forever admire her!! Dealing with Jen being on Hospice is impacting this entire family and I do not know how we are are managing to get through each and every day!!!! Corbin and Jen, Jen’s family, Chuck and I all need your prayers, especially Corbin!!!! We have become quite the blended family and I do not know how we are going to get through this, I do not understand why god has to take Jen away from us, it makes me so angry. Not only is Corbin going to lose his mom but since becoming friends with Jen I am also going to lose someone I have grown to love and adore.

Jen, you are always in my heart throughout every moment of each day. I pray for you to have many more incredible moments with Corbin and your amazing family. I am so blessed to call you my friend and I want you to know that you are truly and dearly loved! You have changed forever how I view each day and I refuse to waste a moment of time with my own children because I recognize what a precious gift every moment is, the good ones as well as the bad! You are an inspiration and you will never be forgotten. I think it’s safe to say that you will live on forever not only through Corbin but also through the hearts of the many, many people who love you!
    Love, Laura
