I’m (almost) 35 and STILL ALIVE!!

My birthday is in the middle of March.  Growing up, that usually meant it fell during spring break.  With friends out of town on vacation, I often had a family party on my actual birthday, then a party with friends either before or after break.  Celebrating my birthday a couple of times was great!  When I was older, I’d often take the day off of work and join friends watching March Madness while celebrating.  This year, I decided to step it up…I’m celebrating my birthday ALL MONTH.  This one of the Delightful Dozen is “I’M 35 AND STILL ALIVE!!!!”  And, if you don’t know me personally, you’ve probably picked up on my unique sense of humor.  😉  Unlike societal norms, I’m proud of my age.  As I’ve said before, age is a privilege.  I’m looking forward to multiple celebrations with friends, far and near, and of course my amazing family!

I had minor surgery this past week.  There was a small bump under my skin post-mastectomy.  I’m hoping it was a stitch.  My oncologist is concerned it is skin mets (the cancer spread to the skin).  I had it removed and should have the pathology back this week.  I see my oncologist on Friday to see how my blood work looks and will hopefully be celebrating with him that the pathology is clean.

The new oral chemo has been pretty tolerable.  Prayers that it’s working—THINK SHRINK!
